Daddy's Day
Daddy's day started off with a game of cards in bed (rather Daddy was ready for it or not) and then a big cup of coffee to get things started. Once Daddy felt a little more... alive... Zoe gave him the cards that she and Trent made for him. After Daddy opened his present... speakers for his stereo. They enjoyed listening to Frank Zappa, Jackson Brown, Jimmy Cliff, Cindi Lauper... and playing their guitars together.
Then, Zoe made Grandpa Ray some cards, a milk jug bird feeder and decorated a bag with a drawing of a blue jay for bird seed. Grandpa really liked his Father's Day present and hung it up outside the kitchen window with his other bird feeders.
That night, we had a little weather moving thru. The weather man, talking about loosing reception of their station said if you get the rabbit ears and a little tin foil, you'll be alright. Zoe didn't hear the part about the reception and thought if she had "rabbit ears" and a little tin foil (apparently wrapped around her butt) she would be safe from the storm. :)
It was a good day.
Trent enjoyed the concert while he had some breakfast.

summer's here!
Zoe's last day of school was last Monday, the 8th. She didn't seem at all sad about it. She has been having quite a bit of fun playing and "hangin' out"... watching Phineas and Ferb... going to bed late and sleepin' in.
After a failed attempt of making Zoe an Easter dress, we opted for an imperfect apron. She sure is cute in it and ready to make Daddy some soup.
Trent is growing up way to fast just like his big sister. He has a little bottom tooth poking out, is learning how to use a sippy cup and is concentrating very, very hard on trying to pick up those darn peas.
And he is trying to figure out what exactly those strange wobbly floating things are that disappear when you touch them...
Summer will be so fun this year as we go camping and hiking...go "treasure hunting" on walks after dinner, bike rides, work on our somewhat of a garden and just enjoy the fresh air and being together.

(By the way, big sis took that picture of Trent and the bubbles)

the wedding
We went to Indiana in April for Kelli and Jason's wedding. Zoe did a great job as their flower girl and we all enjoyed being there to see one of the sweetest couples we know take their vows.
Trent got to meet his Aunt Weezie, Uncle Jeff and all of his cousins. And as always, it was so much fun being able to spend time with our family. We always wish that we lived closer to one another...

And as always, it is so, so difficult to leave...
